Baby House

 

Toddler Daily Schedule

7:15 A.M. until 6:00 P.M.

Monday through Friday

 

7:15-8:30  Toast, free play, greeting of the parents. (Variety of developmentally appropriate play materials is available and the toddlers are freeto move among them.)

 

8:30-8:40  Clean-up

 

8:40-9:00  Music circle time. (Small groups; staff using puppets, songs with motions) 

 

9:00-9:30  Breakfast (staff sits at tables with toddlers)

 

9:30-10:00  Outside play. (Variety of developmentally appropriate play materials is available and toddlers are free to move among them.)

 

10:00-11:15  Center time begins (suggested list of possible center opportunities arranged inside and/or outside). Art (messy play materialseasel, painting, water, sand, finger paint, etc.), blocks, peg boards, bead stringing, puzzles, large muscles (rocking, climbing, sliding, pushing, pulling, etc.) equipment available, dramatic play, and cooking.

 

10:15  Snack served in small groups (language development highlighted). Centers continue.

 

11:15-11:20  Clean-up and preparation of lunch circle

 

11:20-11:30  Music, puppets, or story circle. (Small groups, staff participates with the toddlers).

 

11:30-12:00  Lunch (staff sits at tables with the toddlers)

 

12:00-12:30  Clean-up and free play outside when weather permits. (Variety of developmentally appropriate play materials is available and

toddlers are free to move among them.)

 

12:30-1:00  Preparation for nap (staff takes each child, cleaning him, rocking when necessary, holding and stroking him to calm him for nap). Each child should have a soft toy and/or blanket.

 

1:00-2:30  Naptime

 

2:30-4:30  Wake up, changing, snack, and free play outside and/or inside (Variety of developmentally appropriate play materials is

available and the toddlers are free to move among them.)

 

4:30-5:00  Supper (staff sits at the table with the toddlers).

 

5:00-6:00  Free play outside or inside depending on the weather. Each family should be greeted positively as they arrive for their child/children.
